Closing my eyes lets me feel free. Playing a good improvisation means to feel free and let it happen that the right sound comes out of my sax at the right moment. If I play for people, I close my eyes and get in a mood as if I would be alone. Eyes closed, I walk around with my sax and maybe I hit you, because I don’t see you. Maybe at this moment my sound will change and the sound of the music will change. A further reason to be happy.
