Singing, playing the piano, writing songs – these things mean to me to express what I feel. My intuition and music theory come together when a new piece of music evolves.
The chords sometimes seem to follow the melody that I sing or feel and its rhythmic structure, so the chord changes bear the melody itself in a specific way. But mostly a piano piece develops first that I complete with words and melodies. When I compose by this approach, one might find chord progressions, that are unusual to what we are used to hearing. One might also discover my inspiration comes from impressionistic piano pieces too, through which my love to music developed once.
